The Digital Consultant will apply knowledge and experience with practical application of multiple data management technologies to Carollo internal organization efforts and client projects for the water industry.
This position will reside within Carollo’s Digital Water Group (DWG), which is a sub-practice within the Utility Advisory Services (UAS) Technical Practice with collaboration across Carollo client service and project teams.
Responsibilities
Act as a Digital Water Consultant for the Digital Water Group (DWG) leading digital water-centric projects supporting Carollo’s multiple practices and service offerings.
The role requires a solid technical knowledge of information technologies applied to the water industry including data management, data analytics, data collection and data visualization skills.
Digital projects range from software selection and procurement support, data collection and analysis, and development of custom applications supporting Carollo’s clients in planning, design and operational activities.
- Work with DWG management team members and other Technical Practice leaders to support the development of digital tools and applications that integrate technology and data-centric services with other Technical Practice services, such as master planning, operations and maintenance management, strategic planning, and CIP management services.
- Work as effective member of project teams to apply data analysis, modeling, and visualization techniques to achieve project goals and deliverables.
- Apply knowledge of industry leading data analysis, modeling, and visualization techniques to water and wastewater utility needs.
Keep up-to-date with latest technology trends through online research, training, peer networking, and conference attendance.
Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers within Carollo management team and to Carollo clients using various data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Experience working in the water industry with a background in planning.
- Minimum of 10+ years of practical experience with GIS, data management, data processing, database programming, data analytics, and data visualization applied to the water industry.
- Experience and knowledge of data management technologies applied to the water industry. Technologies include GIS, work order management, modeling and database applications.
- Background in scripting and application development applied to multiple applications including GIS, databases, spreadsheets and web technologies.
- Understanding of management practices for software development projects including use-case analysis, specifications, development phases, testing and deployment phasing.
- Experience working in the water industry and understanding engineering practices and services supporting water agencies, regulatory agencies and water-related associations.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic, organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks within project timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with groups and individuals at all levels in an organization.
- Should be able to effectively work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, .NET, HTML and C#.
- Experience with GIS applications such as ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, and GIS data processing using geodatabases and other spatial data formats.
- Experience in application of data analytics, modeling, and visualization techniques for the water / wastewater industry.
Pay Range
$162,000 to $189,000 CAD annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
