Join our Burnaby healthcare client on an initial 6-month contract as a Quality Assurance Analyst! We are seeking a meticulous Automated QA Tester with a minimum of 5 years of experience in automated software testing.

Responsibilities

  • Review and understand business and technical requirements.
  • Identify and resolve ambiguities or discrepancies in the requirements.
  • Develop Test Plans

1. Based on project requirements, create detailed test plans and strategies outlining the scope, approach, resources, and schedule of testing activities.

2. Write and maintain automated test scripts.

3. Define test objectives, criteria for pass / fail, and deliverables.

Design Test Cases :

1. Develop comprehensive automated test cases and test scripts based on requirements and design specifications.

2. Ensure test cases cover all functional and non-functional aspects

3. Analyze results to identify defects.

Prepare Test Environment

1. Coordinate with IT and development teams to set up the necessary test environments.

2. Ensure all test tools, data, and environments are configured and ready for testing.

  • Perform manual and automated testing as specified in the test plans and test cases.
  • Performance Testing : Perform performance and load testing to ensure system reliability and scalability.
  • Maintain and update existing automation test suites.
  • Execute tests for different types of testing such as functional, regression, integration, performance, usability, and security testing.
  • Identify and Report Defects

1. Log and manage defects using a defect tracking system.

2. Prioritize and communicate issues to developers for resolution.

3. Verify defect fixes and perform regression testing.

Maintain Test Documentation :

1. Document test results, test metrics, and any deviations from the expected outcomes.

2. Prepare test summary reports and provide test status updates to stakeholders.

Work with Cross-Functional Teams :

1. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure quality standards are met.

2. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings in Agile and Scrum environments.

Improve QA Processes :

1. Identify opportunities for improving testing processes and tools.

2. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in QA and testing.

3. Maintain and update existing automation test suites

Ensure Compliance

1. Adhere to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in QA and testing.

2. Ensure that testing activities follow the quality standards of the organization.

3. Ensure compliance with the project's quality standards.

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation.
  • Experience in designing, writing, and executing automated test scripts.
  • Proficiency with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Proficiency in manual testing processes and experience in conducting manual tests when necessary

Desired Qualifications :

  • Experience working with the Health Authorities in BC would be an asset.
  • Programming Languages : Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Automation Tools : Experience with automation testing tools like Selenium, JUnit, or similar.
  • Version Control Systems : Familiarity with version control systems like Git and GitHub
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) : Experience with CI / CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions
  • Frameworks : Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools such as MUnit, JUnit, or similar
  • APIs and Web Services : Ability to test APIs and web services using tools like Postman or RestAssured.
  • Database / SQL : Basic understanding of databases and ability to write and execute SQL queries.
  • Defect Management Tools : Experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Test tools : Experience with Testrail or similar
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in automated test scripts.
  • Willingness to stay updated with new tools, technologies, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of FHIR, SMART on FHIR, HL7, APIs an asset.
  • Strong communication skills to support communication between technical and business teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
