Early Childhood Educator, Float (ECE, Early Years)

Position Title : Early Childhood Educator, Float (ECE, Early Years)Locations : Nanook, Metrotown, Renfrew, YMCA Child Care CentersTerms : Temporary, Full-Time : 35-40 hours per week for 3 months

Shift : Monday to Friday, rotating shifts vary between 7 : 00AM - 6 : 00PM Rate : $23.20 per hourStart Date : As soon as possibleReports To : Team Lead, Child Care

Nature & Scope :

We are seekinga caring and creative Early Childhood Educator to provide a safe and engaging experience for all children at the the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum,the educator plansand leads activities based on the interests and the developmental level of the children in our care.

Major Responsibilities :

• Provide quality care and creative programming to children
• Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families
• Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
• Deliver high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
• Provide active supervision at all times and work as a team to support transitions between play areas
• Use our parent communication app (Weemarkable) to provide daily communication and updates
• Keep a clean and safe environment in all program areas and common spaces
• Follow all YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing (CCFL) and legal requirements, including YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum standards

Qualifications / Experience :

• ECE certification from a program recognized in British Columbia
• Special Needs Educator (SNE) is an asset
• Infant Toddler certification is an asset
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Any training related to child growth and development is an asset
• Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained with in 30 days after start date)
• 3 professional reference checks to be completed
• Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check / Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
