About the Client

Our client is sourcing a Director of Finance for a 4-6-month contract.

About the Opportunity

• Lead and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable / receivable, and IT systems
• Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and controls to ensure long-term financial success and compliance with tax laws, GAAP, and regulations
• Manage financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, investments, and reporting
• Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to align financial plans with business objectives and operational needs
• Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff, ensuring adherence to internal controls, processes, and best practices
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including regular presentations to the Board and Finance, Audit, Property & Planning Committee
• Maintain relationships with banks, insurers, contractors, and vendors; negotiate credit lines, insurance renewals, and major contracts
• Oversee IT infrastructure, insurance policies, and regulatory compliance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
• Administer payroll and benefits in conjunction with HR, and manage membership accounts and overdue procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and manage additional responsibilities as required by leadership

About You

• 10 years of experience with 3 years in a Director or Controller position manage day to day accounting, financial reporting (internal & external), oversee accounting team
• Experience with internal controls & process improvement, assess financial position of the company, collaborate with senior managers
• NFP experience (ASPE)
• CPA or similar designation is an asset but not required
• Experience in the private club or service industry is considered an asset
