About the Job
We are looking for a Shipping and Receiving Associate working to fulfill the tasks required of the shipping and receiving department by sending, accepting, and recording the moving parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock to and from the Company. This position is responsible for providing solid inter-department and external communication between production, shipping, and finance departments for inventory incoming and outgoing.
Responsibilities
- Process shipments following administrative and storage processes
- Receive incoming deliveries: oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks etc.
- Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
- Scan and sort incoming stock and route goods to appropriate storage areas
- Maintain internal record-keeping systems
- If licensed and trained, operate a forklift, hand truck or other equipment
- Know and diligently follow safe storage, handling and shipping procedures for various chemicals and materials
- Receiving, stocking, and stacking
- Create, improve, and maintain existing order processes across all departments
- Provide feedback, suggestions, and support for health and safety protocols within the workplace
Qualifications & Experience
- 1+ years of logistics experience and importing goods
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Forklift experience and qualification an asset; must be willing/engaged to learn and operate a forklift when certified as part of regular job duties
- Microsoft Office Suite experience and ability, adept/open to do reporting and communications
- Regular hours with the potential to do overtime, required in high season Jan to June
- Excellent written, verbal, telephonic, and digital communication with superb customer service skills
- Problem-solving, multitasking and teamwork skills
- Ability to count and organize/reorganize oneself with changing priorities and adjust to last-minute changes
- Comfortable and experienced working in hot and potentially cooler conditions/outside work
- Knowledge of smaller areas (i.e. towns, farming communities) of Ontario where our clients are an asset
