Technical director Jobs in Vaughan, ON

We are looking for an experienced SR& ED Technical Consultant to join our team in Markham, Ontario. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and analytical skills to support clients in identifying eligible activities and preparing documentation for SR& ED claims. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and skilled in client communication.

This is a remote / hybrid position; however a preferred candidate would be located in the Greater Toronto Area.

Responsibilities :

• Own the full SR& ED delivery process for a variety of clients
• Conduct technical eligibility assessments, interviews and provide guidance to relevant client technical managers and leaders
• Author detailed, high-quality technical narratives demonstrating technological advancements and uncertainties
• When required lead CRA technical reviews, representing clients confidently and professionally
• Develop, optimize, and implement SR& ED documentation best practices and compliance systems
• Identify and structure complementary grant and innovation funding opportunities
• Coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery of reports and documentation.
• Stay updated on changes to SR& ED program regulations and industry standards.
• Respond to client inquiries and offer exceptional customer service.
• Support quality assurance efforts by reviewing and improving internal processes related to SR& ED documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree, at a minimum, in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years of direct SR& ED experience with a strong record of delivering successful claims and audit support
• Deep knowledge of CRA SR& ED policy, eligibility guidelines, and tax legislation
• Strong understanding of existing industrial and / or emerging SR& ED processes (e.g., manufacturing, aerospace, software, automation, advanced materials)
• Experience with grants and non-dilutive funding programs
• Superior written communication skills and an ability to translate complex technical work into concise narratives
• Proven client-facing presence with strong stakeholder management at executive and senior engineering levels
• Excellent analytical, project leadership, and prioritization skills
