Position Summary
The Ingelsson Lab is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to cutting-edge research on the molecular aspects of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other brain disorders associated with the accumulation of tau and alpha-synuclein.
The projects will mainly entail the generation and evaluation of monoclonal antibodies against these proteins.
Duties
The applicant will use the hybridoma technique on laboratory mice to generate monoclonal antibodies that can selectively recognize pathogenic variants of tau and alpha-synuclein.
In addition, the applicant will make use of cell biological and histopathological techniques to evaluate the immunotherapeutic effects of the antibodies ex vivo.
Passive immunotherapy and vector-mediated expression of monoclonal antibodies will be explored as preventive and therapeutic strategies for the respective disorders.
Qualifications
- A completed in biomedical science or biochemistry.
- A demonstrated track record of publications in indexed journals.
- Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques including immunohistochemistry, western blot, cell culture and ELISA.
- Previous experience with animal models and genetically modified mice.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a research environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills.
- A proven ability to deliver high-quality work and maintain confidentiality.
- A capacity to work under the pressure of deadlines and find solutions to meet timelines.
Moreover, previous experience with antibody generation and protein engineering is meritorious.
