Job Description
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for planning and directing complex supply, instrument, and equipment acquisitions in support of surgical services.
The Materials Coordinator works in collaboration with OR leadership and serves as an integral member and resource to the Operating Room Product Evaluation Committee.
Additional duties include proactive involvement in the planning and preparation of operating and capital budgets, related contract negotiations as needed, and acquisition of supplies / instruments / equipment to improve efficiencies and to continue to enhance the practice of providing exceptional patient care.

What must you have?
- A Regulated Health Care Professional in good standing with his / her respective College or governing body in a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of surgical education and experience.
- 1 3 years of recent experience in healthcare with / (or managing) supply chain management, acquisitions, and procurement of surgical instruments.
- Previous OR experience with demonstrated ability to promote effective working relationships.
What else do you bring?
- Demonstrated knowledge of Healthcare Purchasing and Inventory Management.
- Proven experience in Process Improvement.
- Proven experience in working collaboratively as both a team member and team leader.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in computer software applications.
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as a good understanding of procurement and instrument tracking software.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
