A little bit about the role :

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Ottawa, ON. This role is responsible for providing in depth technical guidance to our customers.

The ideal candidate is a support-oriented and proactive individual with strong investigative and troubleshooting skills.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Document and track support requests and resolutions in our ticketing system.
  • Provide technical support to clients via phone, email, and remote meetings during business hours and after-hours.
  • Work closely with a team of technical support representatives to efficiently prioritize and resolve issues affecting products and systems used by our customer base.
  • Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement through the design, development, and implementation of support processes, systems, and technology to enhance the technical support function.
  • Grow our long-term relationship with our customer base by providing outstanding customer support.

Desired Qualifications and Experience :

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical support role, ideally in satellite or wireless communication companies.
  • Fluency in Spanish and / or Portuguese
  • Excellent communication and customer support skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Availability to work after-hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Superb analytical and logical troubleshooting skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working with .NET, and Java applications / web services.
  • Experience and understanding of object-oriented programming and dynamic scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python and especially Lua;
  • Experience with SQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL preferred.
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of electronics, circuit design, and satellite and wireless communication systems.
  • Embedded software and hardware development or troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with IoT solutions or terrestrial communication systems.
