You believe in working safely and refuse to compromise your and others’ safety by taking shortcuts to save time.This role is located locally in Langley and the successful candidate would be required to relocate to Langley if they do not already reside there. What you will do :
- Arrive at work on time and prepared for the assigned task and shift.
- Assist with various tasks as required, track and maintain housekeeping of tools, equipment and materials at project sites, office and in crew vehicles.
- Support a positive and professional team atmosphere and acts as a positive ambassador for the company.
- Assist Crew Chief in achieving project timelines and deliverables.
- Complete mandatory safety training and practice competent operation of all equipment and tasks.
- Adhere to, without exception, the safety requirements of the client, OH&S and the GeoVerra Safety program.
- Actively participate in Emergency Response Planning, Hazard Assessment, Job Safety Analysis development, daily tailgate meetings and comply with all safety requirements.
What you will bring :
- Diploma / Degree in Geomatics or Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline preferred, not required.
- Previous experience in Surveying or other related types of work in the great outdoors.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly for the client, project, and GeoVerra requirements.
- Commitment to respond to situations that occur outside traditional working hours.
- Capacity to take directions and communicate effectively.
- An understanding of survey methodologies is considered an asset.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract and background check.
- Completed training and valid tickets in First Aid and CSTS safety training is an asset.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace
Job conditions
- Primarily local work but there may be travel required to support other projects.
- There is the possibly for a night shift on an infrequent basis.
- Carrying, lifting, and pushing up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Working outside in all weather conditions.
