Position Overview
A Team Lead in Tempered Glass oversees and coordinates the production and processing of tempered glass products in a manufacturing facility.
They lead a team of workers to ensure the efficient operation of machinery, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.
Accountabilities

Production :
- Oversee your line and day to day operations.
- Review paperwork from scheduling, plan work for day / week. Plan manpower according to schedule demands.
- Reply to emails inform scheduling any delay of the product, shipping if any issues (delays).
- Review and prepare production reports daily.
- Create spreadsheet to track regular pay, units produced to monitor costs units produced.
- Order material from receiving for raw materials daily. Prepare reports for monthly inventory,
- Manage add on jobs to check stock daily. Ensure low stock is informed to purchasing.
- Manage inventory for line and machines, and work with maintenance to order parts.
- Trouble shoot problem solving skills with production line and machines.
- Work with Research & Development for new product launch in company for your line(s).
- Monitor product quality standards and implement solutions to corrections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical or process problems to resolve issues.
- Maintain knowledge of related Durabuilt businesses.
- Analyze, design and implement set-up / process improvements and cycle time reductions.
Leadership :
- Help lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels. Work with Manager to hire new employees.
- Train and supervise the training of new production staff for your line.
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on systems.
- Maintain documentation, coach and corrective action when performance issues occur.
- Ensure a positive, creative, diverse and collaborative work environment where employees own the success on the line they work in.
- Establish an engaged workforce through mutual trust, open communication, teamwork, and recognition.
- Review and approve payroll hours for all employees.
- Partner with HR to effectively manage employee issues.
- Work with HSE to develop modified work duties to ensure rapid return to work for injured employees.
- Empower individuals to discover their own solutions.
- Set achievable, measurable and challenging goals for all reports.
- Allocate resource requirements required to achieve zero injuries, including systems, focused programs and leadership.
Education
- Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.
- Equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience / Capabilities
- 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment with 3+ years experience as a Team Lead.
- Background in day-to-day production planning, prioritization of tasks and execution based on operational demands.
- Proven ability to meet budget and daily targets.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
- Knowledge of quality tools.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience working with diverse cultures and a varied workforce.
