What is the opportunity?

As Senior Manager of Finance Operations, you will play a pivotal role in the evolution and eventual conversion of financial operations to complex commercial clients, a high-value client segment for Commercial Banking.

In this role, you will lead and oversee Finance operations supporting our complex commercial clients. You will be a key representative for Finance Shared Services (FSS) and provide partnership and trusted counsel to other Finance, Business and Operations stakeholders in standing up target-state processes, business requirements, and client migration activities.

You will also be a champion for efficiency, proactively seeking opportunities for technology adoption, simplification, and harmonization with existing operations.

What will you do?

  • Lead and manage Finance operations for the complex commercial client group. Oversee daily and monthly financial reconciliations, and other financial close activities as necessary
  • Develop deep understanding of the products and financials to identify potential issues. Ensure proper controls are in place to substantiate completeness and accuracy of the balances.
  • Support complex investigations of variances and issues. Factor learnings into client migration planning. Liaise with upstream partners to communicate issues and impact, and monitor resolutions.
  • Formalize Finance operational procedures for the complex commercial client portfolio. Ensure SOX and RBC EUDA documentation compliance and completeness.
  • Explore automations feasible to streamline operational procedures and bring efficiency and better control.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation of new products in FSS and assess Finance operational impact. Advise on financial transaction flow.

Define new and changes to Finance operational process necessary to support the new products, and participate in end-to-end testing.

Partner with Business & Operations to support client migration activities. Lead migration planning for FSS, outline reconciliation and testing requirements.

Establish treatment plan of trailing activities and implement post-migration

What do you need to succeed?

Must have :

  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services, in a business analysis and process optimization capacity
  • Strong finance / accounting background CPA designation or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, under pressure and tight timelines

Nice-to-have :

  • Experience in RBC Finance and Operations is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of SmartStream Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM)
  • Knowledge of RBC products and systems
