What you will be doing :
- Be an advisor for the drinking water and wastewater operations, including private non-municipal drinking water, wastewater and storm water treatment facilities, water distribution and sanitary and storm collection systems, and dispensing systems, waste management and recycling programs and road upgrade projects.
- Responsible for supporting the management of 3rd party water and wastewater contracts and ensuring deliverables are met.
- Provide expertise to water, wastewater and other infrastructure capital projects, working with multidisciplinary project teams to delivery high quality projects on time and within budget, including review of consultant-proposed work plans.
- Identifies and leads proposal opportunities including the key inputs to achieve successful submissions.
- Provide guidance and support to Capex and Property Operations teams ensuring Parkbridge is in compliance with environmental requirements and regulations.
- Act as internal consultant and sounding board’ for Capex, Property Operations and Investment Management on all issues related to road upgrades, water and wastewater, including annual budget budgeting of capital and operating expense requirements related to environmental operations, and identifying alternate solutions for wastewater system design based on knowledge of other similar installations
- Proactively escalate issues and identified risks to the Director, Capital Management and Technical Services
- Support Property Operations and Capex teams effectively and consistently, supporting development of strategy and tactics for all roads and infrastructure operations.
- Develop strong relationships across all functional areas and lines of business within Parkbridge and with applicable external regulatory authorities.
- Work collaboratively with other functional areas on asset management and significant capital investment, including replacement, enhancement, maintenance of Company’s private infrastructure systems
- Supporting, where required, all reporting on environmental project initiatives and quarterly Board reports.
- Lead and deliver customer (internal and external) focused and responsive services in keeping with the "I am Parkbridge" commitment
- Provide practical and commercially astute solution-based approach to environmental challenges
- Supporting all educational initiatives internally to Parkbridge related to Water, Wastewater and Environmental
- Support the development of project plans that align scope, time, cost, quality, resources, and risk.
- Coordinate and assist in the preparation of documents required for approvals, calculations, prepare development and construction cost estimates, tender documents and contracts
- Manage client communications and ensure all client requirements are met throughout the design and reporting process
Requirements :
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in a similar role
- Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is an asset, but not required.
- Experience working in a construction or consulting environment is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and Standards is considered essential
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with technical, business and project management teams
- Proficient within Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficient within AutoCad or equipment program for reading and review drawings and design proposals
- Candidate holding an Ontario Class 3 water and / or sewer certificate or equivalent is considered an asset
- Exceptional critical thinker and problem solver. Ability to work with the business and understand their needs.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
