Investments Analyst

About the Role : Fitzrovia is seeking to hire an Analyst to join our investment team. The Analyst will work collaboratively across all departments and have direct interaction with senior executives at Fitzrovia.

The Analyst will gain exposure to all aspects of the real estate development and asset management business, with a focus on new acquisitions, development, construction, corporate finance, accounting, asset and property management tasks.

As we are a highly collaborative team, this role is on-site full-time, and the successful candidate will be required to work in the office Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities : Assess potential investments through the preparation of detailed financial models and market research.

Complete data-driven analysis to assist in major decision-making including financings, rezoning, design development, construction tendering and lease-up strategy.

Assist with the closing process including review of due diligence material and coordination with internal resources and third-party consultants and stakeholders.

Assist with securing construction financing and permanent debt including the preparation of lender packages, valuations, budgets and due diligence materials.

Assist in the research and evaluation of new business strategies and products.Prepare marketing and due diligence materials to support new investment products offered by Fitzrovia.

Prepare market analysis including evaluation of comparable properties to help establish the leasing and marketing strategy for new assets.

Work collaboratively with the Construction, Development and Property Management teams to ensure successful launches of new assets including a seamless transition from construction to operations.

Assist with the development and implementation of asset-level business plans for all new developments and acquisitions.Collaborate with Property Management and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of business plans.

Work collaboratively with the company’s corporate finance and accounting teams to prepare and modify annual operating budgets.

Prepare presentation materials for internal and external use.Assist senior leaders as needed with any other corporate, portfolio, property level or market analysis.

Provide sound business judgement and implement recommendations on a variety of unstructured tasks.Qualifications and Experiences : Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, finance or a similar field1-3 years experience at an investment bank, private equity company or real estate firmExperience with real estate investments is strongly preferredAdvanced analytical skills with expert working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExcellent and effective written and oral communication and presentation skillsSuperior organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet time sensitive deadlinesStrong work ethic with the flexibility to routinely work outside of core hours as business needs dictateCritical thinker and highly analytical with good judgmentEntrepreneurial self-starter with an ability to work independently and synergistically in a lean and horizontal corporate structureReal estate experience is not required but a keen interest in real estate is crucialWhy Fitzrovia : Fitzrovia is a vertically integrated development and asset manager focused on Class-A and vintage-style apartment buildings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Montreal.
