RAD Torque Raceway is looking for an Accountant to join our team in The Fast Lane’ in the exciting high-octane adrenalin fueled Motorsports Industry!

Responsibilities include managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets, auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, calculating tax payments and returns, employee on boarding, payroll, and general HR related duties.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous accounting experience and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

Position Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting : Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and other financial reports.
  • Month-end Close : Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Cash Management : Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements to ensure the financial stability and growth of the business.
  • Tax Planning : Oversee tax planning and compliance for federal, provincial, and local tax obligations. Work closely with external advisors and agencies as needed.
  • Process Improvement : Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
  • Record cash transactions and reconcile bank accounts monthly.
  • Ensure correct coding, sorting, and approval of accounts payable invoices in Quick Books.
  • Continually monitor Quick Books to ensure invoices are being approved in a timely manner.
  • Identify and review supplier accounts to resolve discrepancies resulting in over and / or short payments of invoices. Ensure priority pay and critical payments meet deadlines.
  • Responsible for vendor inquiries, invoice resolution, and timely resolution of issues including the reconciliation and collection of credits.
  • Cross referencing timesheets and Processing Payroll.
  • Facilitating employee on boarding and benefits.
  • General HR related duties as required.
  • Identify and contribute to the ongoing development of systems and processes, identify benchmarking opportunities, and continually challenge the status quo.
  • Contribute, create, and maintain a positive work environment that fosters the success of a high performing team.
  • Ad hoc projects as required.
  • Some evening and weekend on site cash management may be required.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience (2-4 years).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel).
  • Previous experience with Quick Books.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a team player able to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals.
  • Exemplary organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Detail oriented with the capability to work independently, take initiative, and effectively problem solve.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • A track record of process innovation.
  • General HR related knowledge and experience.

Additionally, the position will provide (where needed) support to the roles of RAD Torque Raceway Ownership and other members of the senior leadership team.

  • Office hours are primarily 8 : 30 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m. Monday-Friday, with some possible occasional Evenings, Weekends & Holidays.
