Job Description
Arcadis is in search of a Market Business Development Lead that will report to our Canadian Government and Civic Practice Group Managers.
This person will have proven leadership skills and is motived to grow the Government and Civic practice across Canada. The individual must have extensive knowledge and experience within the national Government and Civic architecture market and / or strong proven business development capabilities in one or more key regional markets (i.
e. GTA or Alberta or Greater Vancouver). Key responsibilities include leadership through growth in new business, being an active contributor to the Canada strategy and driving its outward facing activity to elevate the brand in the marketplace.
Role accountabilities :
The ideal candidate for the position should possess a combination of leadership skills and expertise in the Government and Civic sector to lead a dynamic team effectively and deliver compelling client presentations.
Their adept problem-solving abilities and strong interpersonal skills are pivotal in fostering productive relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate proficiency in managing multiple project pursuits simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and conveying complex ideas succinctly.
This role will require travel.
You will work on :
- Responsible for developing, in conjunction with the Global Government and Civic Group Director, Market Strategists, Business Unit Directors and Canada Practice Group Managers, the business development strategy on an annual basis to achieve growth
- Responsible for the communication and delivery of the outward facing strategy across Canada
- Sets business development targets in conjunction with the Practice Group Managers in Canada
- Works collaboratively with A&U business leaders in Canada and our global Growth team to develop marketing and business development strategies to win new work.
- Leads the Government and Civic team in developing effective client capture plans and pre-marketing strategies
- Develops and nurtures strong relationships with key clients, both existing and new
- Develops business case, fee strategies and risk assessment in support of go-no-go reviews in conjunction with local Government and Civic Practice Group Managers
- Leads Government and Civic team and marketing support in pursuits, including the analysis and responses of RFQs and RFP’s, proposal writing, interview presentation strategies, messaging, and team preparations for winning interviews
- Drives strategy and content for external marketing communications, including special initiatives, external and internal events, conference speaking abstracts, media relationships, social media, design awards, etc.
- Increases awareness and exposure of Arcadis’s Government and Civic practice to our clients and the profession locally, regionally and within the country
- Demonstrates leadership by participating in professional organizations, activities, and services that further Arcadis’s vision and values
- Implements a Global and National growth strategy in the marketplace
- Mentors, advises, and nurtures the current and future leaders across our studios creating a redundancy’ in key client relationships
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience :
- Degree in Architecture
- 15+ years of Government and Civic architecture experience
- Knowledge of the Government and Civic market and growth practices
- Professional registration
- Knowledge of sustainable principles and LEED accreditation
- Membership or willingness to obtain membership in the Economic Developers Association of Canada
