The Hazel McCallion LRT (HML) is a 18km 19 stop project that will bring a new, environmentally friendly and reliable method of transportation to a rapidly growing region and we want you to be a part of it.
Our HML project delivery team is seeking a Senior Project Manager to play a key role within the team by providing quality and interface functions to move the project from the construction phase into the commissioning and handover phase.
This role will be responsible for the closure of design comments, deficiencies, variations, non-conformances, etc. to prepare infrastructure for the commissioning and handover phase.
It will also be involved with documentation and field quality audits. If you have a background in quality management, construction and commissioning this is the role for you!
What will I be doing?
- Manages the efficient delivery of light rail transit corridor infrastructure elements through project activities including preliminary design, detailed design, preparation of contract documents, construction, contract management and commissioning activities
- Assists with feasibility and environmental studies, and the development and assessment of alternative delivery options to meet market and business conditions relating to the delivery and implementation of light rapid transit corridor infrastructure, where required
- Participates in the development of design proposals and evaluates and recommends RFP / RFQ submissions; manages In-Market activities, including Contractor Requests for Information, and reviews submissions during project design phase
- Communicates effectively with agencies, utility companies and other external stakeholders to define requirements, develop project implementation plans and monitor compliance for light railway infrastructure corridors;
delivers proper ongoing communication and consultation with external stakeholders and elected officials
Leads staff and consultant project teams in the design and construction of infrastructure related to the rapid transit program to achieve program milestones and deliverables that are consistent with quality standards throughout the full project life cycle
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
A University degree in Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is an asset.
PMP certification is also an asset.
- Demonstrates years of progressively responsible experience in capital project management and implementation, including at least two years of experience managing large, complex, multi-year transit projects
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
- Negotiating skills to navigate between multiple parties with differing perspectives along with interpersonal skills to develop collaborative internal relationships.
