Position Summary
As an integral member of the Redevelopment Projects Department, FM-PRO, the Manager, organizes and leads the development of construction projects, under the direction of Senior Leadership on a high-profile development project
Duties
- Management and execution of Design Assist construction contract
- Financial management activities, including budget and invoice review
- Preparation and review of schedules and specifications
- Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, review of changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Review and monitor of construction activities, on site
- Development and implementation of strategies to effectively manage the user group and stakeholder process both internally and externally
- Hiring and supervising the activities of contractors, subcontractors and / or trades people
- Performing administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient and efficient operation of the department
- Performing cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture or Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, work and project experience.
- 10+ Years of relevant & progressive experience
- Certified PMP is an asset
- LEED, Construction Gold Seal is an asset
- CSA Infection Control is an asset
- PEng. OAA, RPP are an asset
- Excellent problem-solving, change and risk management skills,
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects,
- High level of organization,
- Relationship management with ability to earn trust of others and work collaboratively with stakeholders,
- Technical knowledge of construction means and methods
- Aptitude for presentations in front of stakeholders, lead meetings,
- High degree of risk mitigation, crisis resolution, and negotiation capacities
- Strong communication, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and convey vision, ideas, goals, progress and issues in verbal, visual and written formats.
- Political acuity
- Ability to handle frequent competing and changing priorities and meet deadlines.
