Position Description :
As the Project Manager - Healthcare Payer, you will be the driving force behind the successful execution of large-scale, cross-functional projects that aim to mitigate organizational risk and maximize strategic opportunities.
Reporting to the Director of the Corporate Program Management Office (CPMO), you will be responsible for all phases of the project management lifecycle for complex, high-risk projects that span 6-18 months and often involve external vendors.
Responsibilities :
- Drive successful execution of large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- Mitigate organizational risk and maximize strategic opportunities.
- Report to the Director of the Corporate Program Management Office (CPMO).
- Manage all phases of project lifecycle for complex, high-risk projects.
- Implement project management tools and methodologies.
- Evaluate cost and feasibility of multiple options to resolve project issues.
- Manage project budgets.
- Organize teams across business and technology.
- Develop relationships and navigate political issues.
- Perform strategic analysis and risk mitigation.
- Proactively identify conflict and integration issues.
- Remove obstacles by anticipating challenges.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor s degree or relevant experience (advanced degree preferred).
- Requires strong Medicaid experience.
- Strongly preferred certifications : PMP and Agile.
- 10-15 years of project management experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience in process management.
- Minimum 2 years experience in health insurance operations (if PMP certified) or 4 years (if not).
- Experience with CQI, TQM, PDCA, PMBOK, or other formal improvement techniques.
- Proven track record of meeting project deadlines with successful outcomes.
- Ability to thrive in a matrix-management, hands-on environment.
- Strong negotiating, influencing, and advocacy skills.
- Outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
