Role impact :

The Project Delivery Manager will support the successful delivery and provide strategic input for project plan development, budget and scope ensuring consistency across various projects.

The Project Delivery Manager will ensure project success by driving operations through the application of sound project and change management principles and methodologies.

The incumbent is accountable for effective leadership, client relationship and vendor management, strong communication skills, ability to identify and improve internal processes and procedures, sound judgment and follow through that will be critical for success in this role.

What you will deliver :

  • Responsible for managing or supporting multiple, simultaneous projects with vendors and other project resources.
  • Protect integrity of project implementations delivered by independent contractors.
  • Continuously engage stakeholders / clients in discussions to understand and anticipate needs.
  • Track and report all project phases within the project management lifecycle.
  • Manage selected projects, internal resource allocations and commitments. Participate in assigned client’s work from start to finish which includes the Request For Proposal process, business case development (planning, implementations, and commissioning phases), cost / schedule tracking, vendor management, etc.
  • Provide effective stakeholder management in the preparation of related project budgets through determining future needs and provide budgetary estimates for project costs.
  • Provide effective stakeholder engagement in the development of related project material through determining future needs.
  • Prepare project business cases on selected projects for approval to clearly explain the rationale and expected benefits from proposed projects including defined and measurable performance targets to determine success.
  • Establish and train internal stakeholders in project management processes to ensure consistency in contract negotiations, standards, execution, tracking and delivery of projects.

Activities include initiating, planning, executing, making process improvement recommendations, and closing projects by applying industry accepted project, process, and change management methodologies.

  • Coordinate all aspects of project delivery including defining and maintaining the integrity of the project scope, identifying, and mapping requirements, defining services and processes, specifying deliverables, estimating project duration, effort, and cost, managing project budget, creating detailed project plans, schedules and managing change requests.
  • Maintain regular communications with multi-disciplinary teams, departments, and business stakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties which may impede progress or compromise achievement of project’s objectives.
  • With the support of internal stakeholders, maintain a detailed status, activities and issues reports on each project. Accurately forecast, monitor, report and manage project costs (budget).

Effectively establish and use budget tracking approach and metrics that accurately tracks team productivity, earned value and Return On Investment.

Ensure project is delivered within approved budget, schedule, contingency and meets quality standards against pre-defined success measures.

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey goals and status updates to team members and top management.

Extensive experience in direct customer contact and presentations.

  • Proactive, energetic, professional self-starter with the ability to maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints and a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Highly skilled at influencing, leading, and engaging a team of individuals.
  • Possess a continuous improvement and quality mindset along with a desire to continuously seek and incorporate innovative practices and technologies in order to deliver value to the clients.

What you need to succeed :

  • Post-secondary education in a related field combined with relevant experience.
  • Minimum years of relevant and progressive experience in project and program management work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in project and change management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Report writing skills and proven ability to communicate and present to all levels of management
  • LEED and / or PMP accreditation would be an asset.
  • Experience using Google platforms (Gmail, Google Docs, etc.) and project management tools such as Asana
  • Proven experience in managing the end-to-end project management lifecycle of medium to large capital projects
