Street Haven is a dynamic multi-service agency that provides shelter, supportive housing, training supports, and addictions therapy to vulnerable women in Toronto.

It has the historical distinction of having established Canada’s first women’s shelter in 1968. For nearly 60 years, Street Haven has been making an impact in the lives of thousands of women.

In 2023, the organization was honored as the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (ONPHA) Award of Excellence winner.

For nearly 60 years, Street Haven has remained steadfast in it’s mission to serve vulnerable and homeless women. Today, the organization oversees a 30-bed emergency shelter, a 50-bed hotel shelter, and 32 supportive housing units.

Street Haven offers academic upgrading and pre-employment services, addiction services including a three-month in-residence intensive treatment program, and delivers community outreach programs across Toronto.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations will be a hands-on, and strategic leader. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director will be accountable for leading and overseeing Finance, Human Resources, Facility Operations (kitchen and cleaning services), and Information Management and Information Technology (IM / IT).

The Director, Operations will facilitate smooth process management to ensure an engaging employee experience and maintain reliable systems and operations.

The successful candidate will be an inclusive leader with exceptional communications ability, innovative systems thinking, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

You are a seasoned Operations leader with experience in talent management / development, operational monitoring and reporting, financial processing, and contract and data management.

As an ideal candidate, you have been involved in the community and have demonstrated experience in a complex non-profit environment or public facing environment.

You are a passionate leader with impeccable ethics and have demonstrated experience improving operational processes and systems with a continuous improvement approach.

As such, you will be at the forefront of leading multiple functions in the organization.

This role is based in downtown Toronto, and requires working in-office.
