Your Opportunity

As our Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) , you will be instrumental in reshaping our market presence and driving innovation ahead of industry demands.

You will play a pivotal role in positioning BDO Canada as a market leader, shaping future trends, and meeting the evolving needs of our clients.

As our CMO, you will be responsible for the delivery and execution of our Brand, clients and go-to-markets strategy. You will provide foresight, development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive marketing infrastructure that advances our mission, vision, and values.

As an innovative, strategic and culturally transformative leader, you will ensure the development of the critical knowledge the Firm requires to achieve and accelerate our business goals, gain a competitive advantage all while fostering a differentiated talent experience.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the organization to synthesize and integrate brand, market, target client and business / service line needs into our marketing activities.
  • Lead the development, execution, refinement and communication of our comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Utilize market insights and data to anticipate future trends and market behavior, ensuring our marketing efforts remain agile and responsive.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous innovation and collaboration within the marketing team, encouraging experimentation and creativity to drive growth and market differentiation.
  • Champion new approaches, technologies, and methodologies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Establish yourself as a national thought leader in marketing, shaping the direction of future industry trends and best practices.
  • You will lead a highly effective and efficient marketing team delivering enterprise solutions and impactful employee experiences supported by collaborative internal and external partnerships.
  • Build strategic partnerships and collaborations to amplify our brand presence and influence in the market.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure cohesive and integrated marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify marketing needs and opportunities, designing and implementing customized marketing programs to drive business growth and revenue.
  • You will ensure that BDO's marketing programs are compliant with all relevant regulations and laws, such as those related to privacy and inclusion, equity and diversity.
  • Define key performance metrics and regularly report on marketing effectiveness, budget utilization, and ROI.
  • Develop and execute strategies for managing digital assets, including social media platforms and website, to enhance brand presence and engagement.
  • Utilize data analytics and market research to project a profound understanding of clients' needs and preferences, incorporating client engagement, feedback mechanisms, and satisfaction metrics such as Net Promoter Score (NPS).

Your experience and education

  • You bring proven leadership in taking an organization to the next level of growth with demonstrated successful execution while operating in complex and fluid environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • You are an expert in people-centered design and create followership and buy in with your passion.
  • You have a successful record of results leading the marketing function of a large, multi-faceted professional services or comparable organization.
  • You have an ability to interpret, prepare and communicate key messages in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
  • You are a data driven individual who generates and executes ideas at strategic and tactical levels.
  • You bring 15+ years of demonstrated experience building, designing, and implementing enterprise-wide client and markets strategies, teams and programs, five of which are in a strategic leadership capacity.
  • You have a track record of coaching a high-performing, collaborative team in a fast-paced, service-driven environment with proven ability to lead a large, geographically dispersed team.
  • You demonstrate a service mind-set and highest standards of ethics, integrity and professionalism.
  • You bring extensive experience building innovative, forward-thinking strategies that contribute to a strong high performing learning culture.
  • You hold a university degree ideally supplemented by a recognized designation, certification or Masters / Ph.D.
  • You have a demonstrated track record of successfully building and elevating a brand to top-tier status through strategic positioning, innovative marketing campaigns, and consistent brand messaging across multiple channels.
