Job Description
The Project Controller assists, advises and supports project managers in planning, execution and throughout the project life cycle, in order to deliver projects on time and on budget.
He / she plays an essential role in the success of projects by ensuring optimal planning of resource mobilization, compliance with deadlines, cost control, maintenance of dashboards and performance indicators, and management of changes and contractual and administrative obligations.
Specific mandates and work environment :
- The candidate's main mandate will be to monitor and control the cost of a specific project program in collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders;
- The candidate will also have to work on small and / or large engineering projects, requiring a variety of reporting and governance-related tasks;
- The candidate will have to work on a daily basis in a constantly evolving work environment, and will have to adapt and be receptive to new situations and changes;
Main responsibilities :
- Participate in various project meetings with project managers and other stakeholders to gather and reconcile project progress information;
- Verify and compile information to prepare dashboards and cost progress management reports;
- Communicate with the various stakeholders to obtain the necessary information.
- Following a change, makes the necessary adjustments to the control activities under his / her responsibility;
- Good understanding of financial concepts;
- Ensure the production of reports, indicators and other monitoring and control elements;
- Identify opportunities to improve project management performance and propose action plans;
- Identify project risks and propose mitigation measures;
- Control costs and invoicing;
- Maintain project documentation, records and filing;
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BAC) in business administration, engineering, or a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in an appropriate discipline or equivalent;
- Five (5) years' relevant / equivalent experience;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (specifically Microsoft Excel - pivot tables, vlookups, graphing, formulas, etc.).
- Autonomous, rigorous, self-starter, organized and efficient;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision;
- Bilingualism in French and English is required (written and spoken). Fluency in French and English is required for this position in order to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including customers, partners and members of every community nationwide.
- Project management certification (e.g. PMP, CAPM) an asset;
- Experience in engineering / construction an asset;
- Experience in MS Project and ERP environment an asset;
- Customer / partner orientation and team player
