Job description

At Stride, we proudly partner with foundations and not-for-profit organizations to raise critical funds through professionally managed lottery programs. Our work helps generate millions of dollars annually in support of life-changing healthcare initiatives, groundbreaking research, and essential community services across Canada. By combining strategic insight, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to our clients’ missions, we help deliver high-impact results that make a real difference in the lives of Canadians.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager / Product Owner to lead the strategy, development, delivery, and ongoing evolution of innovative B2B and B2C lottery technology products in a competitive and highly regulated industry.

This role requires someone who can operate across the full product lifecycle - from identifying market opportunities and understanding customer needs, through defining product strategy, building business cases, developing pricing and positioning, managing delivery, launching products, and measuring results.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of both product strategy and product execution. They will be equally comfortable analyzing a market, developing a business case, presenting a product strategy to senior leadership, speaking with customers, working through pricing scenarios, and sitting with an Engineering team to refine a user story.

Our products help non-profit organizations raise vital funds for some of the largest foundations in support of important causes within our communities. We create engaging, impactful lottery experiences that help non-profit organizations exceed their fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Define and drive product vision, strategy, objectives, and roadmap in alignment with company strategy and customer needs.

  • Own the full product lifecycle from discovery and opportunity assessment through development, launch, optimization, and ongoing management.

  • Identify and evaluate new product opportunities through market research, consumer insight, competitive intelligence, data analysis, industry trends, and emerging technologies.

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps that balance customer value, business objectives, market opportunity, technical feasibility, regulatory requirements and risk.

  • Continuously evaluate the performance, relevance and take rates of products and adjust strategy and priorities as customer needs, and business objectives evolve.

  • Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis, including product value, pricing, positioning, customer propositions, strengths, weaknesses, market activity, and differentiation.

  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to assess opportunities and inform product strategy.

  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the product's competitive position and identify opportunities for meaningful differentiation.

  • Act as a product subject matter expert in customer and stakeholder discussions.

Pricing, Business Cases & Financial Management

  • Develop and evaluate pricing strategies based on customer value, market dynamics, competitive positioning, and business objectives.

  • Conduct sophisticated pricing analysis, including Price elasticity, Willingness to pay, Competitive pricing, Price-volume trade-offs, Break-even review, sensitivity analysis, Packaging and tiering, Promotional and discount strategies

  • Establish financial and commercial success measures and monitor actual performance against business case assumptions.

Product Positioning, Value Proposition & Go-To-Market

  • Develop clear and compelling product positioning and value propositions

  • Define target audiences, use cases, customer needs, buying drivers, and key benefits.

  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new campaigns and product initiatives, including appropriate launch timing and sequencing.

  • Coordinate launch readiness across Product, Technology, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop or contribute to sales enablement materials, product demonstrations, presentations, FAQs, competitive insights, positioning materials, and other launch assets.

  • Lead internal product training and enablement to ensure relevant teams understand the product, value, positioning and competitive differentiation.

  • Monitor launch performance and conduct post-launch reviews to assess adoption, customer response, financial performance, and achievement of objectives.

Agile Product Ownership & Technology Delivery

  • Serve as Product Owner within an Agile Scrum environment, working closely with Engineering, Development, QA, Marketing and the Software Development Manager.

  • Translate product strategy and technical considerations into clear product requirements.

  • Create and manage epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, strategic priorities, technical feasibility, regulatory requirements and risk

  • Ensure development teams understand both what is being built and why.

  • Work closely with Engineering to understand architecture, technical dependencies, scalability, security, technical debt, and delivery trade-offs.

  • Make informed trade-offs between functionality, cost, quality, risk, and time to market.

  • Ensure products are designed and delivered with appropriate usability, reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability.

Regulatory Compliance & Certification

  • Ensure products comply with applicable lottery, gaming, privacy, payment, security, accessibility, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and coordinate required regulatory certifications, approvals, documentation, and licensing requirements.

  • Incorporate regulatory requirements into product strategy, roadmaps, backlog priorities, requirements, acceptance criteria, and launch readiness.

  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and assess their potential impact on products and product strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of progressive Product Management / Product Owner experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing products through the full lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies.

  • Exceptional analytical skills and a highly data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple products, initiatives and competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry or managing regulatory approvals, certifications, licensing, or compliance requirements is highly desirable.

  • Experience in lottery, gaming, fundraising, financial technology, payments, or another highly regulated environment is an asset.
