Commercial Litigation Associate (2–3 Years Call)

The Opportunity
A respected and established Calgary law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its growing litigation team.
This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with strong foundational litigation experience who is looking to build expertise in commercial disputes while working alongside experienced litigators in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of matters, including construction disputes, credit enforcement, and commercial litigation, while developing advocacy skills and increasing responsibility for client files.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with and manage litigation files from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, applications, affidavits, and other court materials
- Conduct legal research and prepare written arguments
- Attend chambers applications, discoveries, mediations, and court appearances
- Work directly with clients and opposing counsel
- Support senior litigators on complex commercial disputes
- Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal advice
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of litigation experience
- Strong interest in commercial litigation and dispute resolution
- Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
