As Senior Facility Manager you will assist inleading a department that is responsible for the iconic andhistoric Fairmont Royal York.
The hotel was certified as Canadasfirst luxury Carbon Neutral hotel in 2023. This position isresponsible for the ongoing maintenance of the hotel and itsmechanical and electrical infrastructure with a focus to improveefficiency reliability and meeting the Fairmont service standards.
Inspiring and leading a team of 40 colleagues and buildingrelationships with external contractors the Senior Facility Managerwill be an integral part of the departmentleadership.
Major Duties andResponsibilities
- Administer thepreventative maintenance CMMS program effectively for allmechanical and electrical equipment. This includes but is notlimited to kitchen equipment laundry equipment M and E equipment(generators air handling units fans fire system verticaltransportation escalators) guestrooms and publicareas.
- Support projects and field experts inproject planning and execution. Participate in afterhours shutdownactivities for maintenance and projectactivities.
- Foster and leverage relationshipswith contractors as required to assist in the servicing of thebuilding systems
- Support labor managementstandards and controls
- Assist in therecruitment of Engineering Dept.positions
- Administer training Programs forEngineering Colleagues. Utilize knowledge and skill sets ofcontractors management and colleagues to promote development of allengineering team members.
- Ensuring the hotelcomplies with all government regulations pertaining to buildingcode requirements health fire and life safetyprogram
- Monitoring energy management program toensure cost effective use of utilities and reduce energyconsumption
- Maintaining close and effectiveworking relationship with all colleagues other Departments andexternal contractors
- Support engineeringleadership team to effectively manage expenses (e.g. wages heatlight and power water consumption tools and equipment uniformsvendors service agreements inventoryetc.).
- Ensures building and equipment licensespermits and certifications are current.
- Performperiodic inspections to buildings and services and preparingreports for improvements
- Assures implementationof Accor policies standards andprocedures.
Qualifications :
- Engineeringdegree / diploma or equivalent an asset 2nd Class Station engineerpreferable
- Minimum 3 years experience inBuilding Operations and / or Engineering
- Fullunderstanding of customer service in the hospitality / buildingoperations sector
- Demonstrated leadershipdynamic personality excellent interpersonal skills a reputation forintegrity and a proven role model.
- Workingknowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems includingBAS systems
- Strong written and verbalcommunication skills
- Working knowledge ofMicrosoft Office Must have knowledge of blue prints; readingunderstanding and analyzing
PhysicalAspects of Position (included but not limitedto) :
