RQ06923 OPGT Support - One 1 Software Developer - Senior

This is a contract position for a OPGT Support - One (1) Software Developer - Senior for our public sector client.

Work location : Downtown Toronto

Duration : Twelve Months

7.25 hours / day

This is an onsite role that requires the candidate to be onsite 5 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities

• Provide COBOL-based Trust Accounts Management System (PGTAMS) mainframe application enhancements and support, including analysis, prepare functional specifications and detail designs
• Develop, support, and maintain programs for conversion, and integration (between the mainframe and application servers using tools such as Connect Direct, HIS and IMS connect)
• Respond to after hour system abends and provide immediate resolution to enable the daily batch process to complete successfully by 4 : 00 am
• Perform daily verification of the previous business days batch process

Qualifications

1. Mainframe Technical Skills

A minimum of 5 years’ knowledge of, experience with, and proven skills (within the last 9 years) developing and supporting Mainframe COBOL applications in IMS DB / DC in the z / OS environment.

Must have similar knowledge and experience with TSO (Time Sharing Option), JCL, BTS and CLIST. Familiarity with IMS Connect, Host Integration Services (HIS), TCP / IP are also essential

Must have experience and proven skills with IMS-DB / DC, Enterprise COBOL; PL1 z / OS an MVS, TSO (JCL, CLIST, BTS)

2. Business Applications

Knowledge and proven experience with :

• Trust Accounting Systems using double entry accounting practices
• Other Financial Applications (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Investment Management)
• Case Management Applications
• Integration business applications on multi-platforms

3. Analytical and Communications Skills

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

4. Public Sector Experience

1+ years public sector experience within the last 10 years
