Summary of responsibilities :
The Senior Advisor, Data Management and Platform Development is responsible for CATSA’s Data Management (DM) and Data Platform (DP) programs.
The incumbent will be responsible for :
- Leading the development and implementation of the DM Data Governance Roadmap, maintaining the DM Framework, coordinating the activities of the Data Stewardship Team (DST).
- Serving as a subject matter expert and advising management on CATSA DM and DP strategy.
- Supporting DP development and operations.
- Designing, implementing and managing data science infrastructure, data science solutions and robotic process automation workflows.
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities of the position as required.
What you need to succeed :
- Graduation from a recognized university with specialization in computer science, information technology / management, or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience working in IT with at least five years in Data Management, Business Intelligence or Data Engineering.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in Data Engineering and Integration, specializing in building scalable data pipelines, optimizing ETL processes, and integrating diverse data sources to support robust analytics and reporting.
- Minimum two (2) years experience in Python development, specializing in building and optimizing APIs, back-end systems, and data-driven applications.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in Azure DevOps, with a focus in Git version control, branching strategies, and code review workflows.
Experience in designing and implementing robust CI / CD pipelines, automating build, test, and deployment processes, and managing infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Minimum one (1) year experience in building and managing CI / CD pipelines, along with proficiency in automation tools and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps / Power Automate), building custom business applications and workflows for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
- Experience providing advice and preparing reports, plans, recommendations, and briefing material for others, including senior management.

- Experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestrating and automating data workflows.
- Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics for integrating big data and data warehousing.
- Proficiency in Azure SQL Database and Cosmos DB for managing scalable and secure data storage.
- Applying data management principles and processes as referenced in the DMBOK.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) an asset.
Specific work requirements :
- Ability to work overtime as required;
- Ability to travel as required;
- Language Profile : English Essential;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance;
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
