What is the Opportunity?
The Business System Analyst responsibilities will be conducting requirements gathering sessions, details break down, to assist development in metadata scanners.
You will work in collaboration with IT and Business Partners to assess, research, and analyze data needs to support metadata management & data lineage deliveries.
This position involves many interpersonal interactions at all levels within the organization, communication skill is essential for this role to build connections with technical personnel / high level management.

Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. GFT's impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions.
Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management.
We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
What will you do?
- Work with various IT and Business Partners to understand business logic, provide analysis on system dataflows and prepare development initiatives with intended design and standards.
- Understand System Dataflow for various applications, contribute to data model and system architecture design.
- Maintain & create technical documentations, flowchart, business use case in assist with project development.
- Test case design and execution in support of Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing.
- Willing to learn and use system dataflow platform, prepare deliveries as per Business Requirements.
- Analyze and remediate issue in dataflow disconnections.
W h at do you need to succeed?
Must Have :
- Undergraduate degree or higher, preferable in Computer Science, Engineering or Finance
- 2+ years of Business Analysis Experience in fast-paced environment
- Ability to understand the business logic, ETL process, from existing code (SQL, Java, Python, etc.)
- Documentation skills in creating well-structured technical specifications, guide & assist development team to build solutions
- Self-Driven & Critical Thinking : Ability to investigate issue in border pictures, use all available resources to provide solutions
- Excellent communication skill is crucial
- Skills in MS & other office, code tools (Excel, text editor, PowerPoint, GitHub)
- Experience in large projects with interaction with multiple teams
Nice-to-have :
- Knowledge in Capital Market Products
- Experience in SDLC (software development life cycle)
- Knowledge in Agile, Waterfall or other IT delivery methodologies
