South Calgary Health Centre Urgent Care provides unscheduled, same-day assessment and treatment for individuals presenting with unexpected health concerns. While designed to manage non-life-threatening conditions, the service frequently encounters patients with higher acuity needs, including those requiring rapid assessment, stabilization, and urgent transfer to higher levels of care. Care is delivered in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring strong triage, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Instructor - Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities for Urgent Care staff. This includes program delivery based on identified needs, including orientation, compulsory education programs, clinical development, and continuing education.
Description:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Current clinical experience in emergency or urgent care. Instructor certifications (, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CTAS, TNCC). Certification in Quality Improvement methodologies considered an asset.
