Arcadis is growing! Arcadis Canada is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join our Environmental Team in Canada.
This position can be based out of one of our Canadian offices in Ontario. 85% travel to sites throughout region will be required as well as an opportunity to travel across Canada.

Role accountabilities :
As an Environmental Field Technician, you will co-ordinate and execute activities assigned by Project Managers pertaining to the execution of environmental projects including environmental site assessments, risk assessments, and remediation projects.
This includes conducting site visits and inspections, monitoring and supervising drilling and / or remediation activities, preparing field notes, and collecting soil and groundwater samples, and writing environmental reports.
Responsibilities will include :
- Strong understanding of field protocols including soil, groundwater, and vapour sampling, and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management
- Maintain knowledge and familiarity with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks (O.Reg.)
- Diligent interpretation of environmental data
- Comparison of sample results to applicable guidelines and standards
- Preparation of reports documenting the results of investigation programs
- Independently supervise contractors (drillers, daylighters, utility locators, etc.)
Qualifications & Experience :
- Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, earth sciences, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in soil, groundwater or vapour sampling, and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management preferred.
Key skills for the role include :
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor junior colleagues, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications :
CTech or CET or eligibility for P.Eng. or P.Geo. considered an asset.
