About the role
The Corporate Affairs & Communications team focuses on reputational management by providing Internal and External Communications, Government Relations and Social Impact solutions that support IFC’s business objectives and strategic roadmap. This includes :
- Supporting and amplifying the common elements that bring us together, define our unique culture and drive outperformance.
- Protecting and promoting the IFC brand and reputation globally.
- Elevating IFC’s role in helping to build resilient communities where we do business.
- Creating and amplifying thought leadership content to share IFC’s knowledge and expertise.
- Enhancing employee engagement across IFC emphasize what makes us a winning team.
The Communications Advisor II is responsible for :
Supporting the communications team on a wide range of internal and external programs and initiatives. Drafting, editing, proofreading, and distributing content to support IFC’s strategic priorities and initiatives including intranet articles, website content, presentations, videos, graphics and newsletters.
Woking closely with subject matter experts, business units and other stakeholders to manage projects of varying complexity.
Implementing and managing internal and external communications platforms. This includes collaborating with IT and other teams to develop and maintain best practices, measure communication effectiveness, oversee content, develop and provide training.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to develop strong relationships with internal business partners and colleagues at all levels.
- Build strategic communications plans and translate them into meaningful and engaging communications.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking by ensuring plans are aligned with strategic priorities and determine the best approach to execute on them, working with various brands and regions.
- Assess the needs of each project, seek feedback and buy-in, and implement the plan.
- Manage projects effectively, while leveraging and developing best practices and developing new processes as needed.
- Manage change with key stakeholders across the business.
- Produce high-quality, compelling content for internal and external audiences.
- Develop and maintain editorial calendar for intranet, newsletters and corporate website.
- Become an expert in all internal and external communications platforms / tools and develop best practices for their use.
- Measure success based on KPIs and other metrics for all projects and provide recommendations based on findings and learnings.

- Shares the Intact story in a compelling and engaging way to multiple audiences, using a multichannel approach, to inspire action.
- Leads projects that contribute meaningfully towards IFC corporate objectives (e.g. employee engagement) and Corporate Affairs and Communications objectives and strategic plan.
- Builds strong relationships with internal business partners and colleagues across the organization.
- Integrates effective processes and best practices in all projects to deliver on the organization’s internal communications needs and strengthen the employee experience.
- Strives to live the IFC Values and is a role model to others.
Specific Experience / Requirements and Working Conditions
- Individual contributor role
- Typically 5+ years’ relevant experience in journalism, communications, blogging or social media management.
- Typically 5+ years’ experience in creating messaging for internal and external audiences, and inspiring action.
- Stellar writing and editing skills, including an understanding of newswriting techniques.
- Experience creating strategic communications plans (from research to measurement) and designing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Experience in crafting editorial calendars and re-purposing stories across platforms.
- Excellent communications skills in person and in writing.
- Proven ability to build and execute plans to enhance employee engagement.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and expectations simultaneously, and to deliver work on time.
- Ability to leverage a strategic brief to develop effective communications.
- Ability to create alignment among multiple stakeholders.
- Understanding of market research, brand, marketing campaign structure / discipline.
- Highly computer literate with strong command of MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint Online, etc.).
- Experience working in content strategy and management considered an asset.
- Bilingualism in French and English is preferred. Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.
