Job Description
The House of Commons Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Senior Technology Project Manager and Technology Project Manager positions.
As a Senior Technology Project Manager or Technology Project Manager you would work in one of two types of streams, either our Infrastructure projects stream, or our IT projects stream leading projects such as application development, COTS implementation, and deployment projects.
IT Stream :
As a Senior Technology Project Manager or Technology Project Manager, you are accountable for providing project leadership, planning, implementation and delivery of complex information technology projects.
This could include IT projects within application development, custom off the shelf systems (COTS) and large-scale deployment of technology in support of House of Commons’ strategic IT direction and priorities.
You may also provide close support to Agile Scrum teams and coordinate activities related to major initiatives.
Infrastructure Stream :
As a Senior Technology Project Manager or Technology Project Manager, you play a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment of infrastructure projects, from planning and execution, to transfer to operations in the fields of networking, physical security, multimedia and building automation systems.
Your ability to navigate technical complexities, engage stakeholders effectively, and manage resources is essential for providing exceptional services to Members and Canadians.
You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications
Education :
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, and / or equivalent experience in Project Management.
Experience :
Senior Technology Project Manager :
- 7+ years' experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams for information technology projects with specialization in one of the streams listed.
- Either experience in Infrastructure projects or experience in two of the three subjects : (1) COTS system implementation or major upgrades, (2) software development, (3) deployment projects of new software / hardware technology on a large scale;
- Experience in the management of large information technology projects encompassing all project stages, from inception to deployment and closeout;
- Experience in preparing project documentation including Project Charters, Project Plans, Closeout Reports;
- Experience in facilitating meetings with clients to elicit or clarify requirements, address concerns;
- Experience in preparing and presenting project updates to senior executives and project stakeholders;
- Experience in change management.
Technology Project Manager :
- 5+ years' experience in leading multi-disciplinary information technology projects with specialization in one of the streams listed below.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement;
- Experience in preparing project documentation including Project Charters, Project Plans, Closeout Reports;
- Experience in leading medium to large projects with complex stakeholder engagement;
- Experience in preparing and presenting project updates to executives and project stakeholders;
Assets : IT Stream :
IT Stream :
- PMP Certification;
- Scrum Master Certification;
- Experience using Microsoft AzureDevOps;
- Experience in developing and implementing change management plans to support the introduction of new / improved technology solutions to clients.
Infrastructure Stream :
- PMP Certification;
- Experience collaborating with partners in fields such as construction, security, interior design and architecture
- Experience in government procurement;
- Experience working in a construction environment.

Annual rates of pay : Senior Technology Project Manager ADG-C $95,700 - $121,088; Techology Project Manager ADG-D $83,912 - $106,175.
