Competition #2023-463-CC Supervisor, Counselling & Support Services Employment Type : Contract Salary, (Non)-Bargaining Unit 12 Months Work Hours : 35 hours / week Work Setting : Hybrid Salary Range : $68,000 - $75,000 Application Deadline : May 2, 2024, by 11 : 59 pm Program Overview Counselling & Support Services, Community Care The Counselling, and Support Services team provides support for people with mental health and / or substance use issues, including concurrent disorders and dual diagnosis within an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, harm reduction and mental health recovery frameworks.

What You Will Do Coordinate CSS program and provide operational oversight; develop and / or update program materials to ensure compliance with organizational, funder-specific, and accreditation standards and requirements.

Work with referral partners and other service providers to identify and engage clients, make seamless, effective referrals and service connections and provide support in making referrals to the CSS team to ensure flow and service quality.

Implement ongoing promotion / awareness building of CSS program. Identify and implement mechanisms for community and client input to support organizational quality improvement measures and foster ongoing enhancement of the CSS program.

Identify and actively participate in existing and new partnership initiatives to enhance CSS program and promote its reach and sustainability.

Support development of funding proposals. Complete statistical reports and submissions and maintain all records and forms regarding visits and program / activity enrollment, using a client information database in a timely manner.

Support program development and evaluation activities and implement new services and initiatives that build on and enhance the objectives of the program.

Supervise Program staff and conduct ongoing and annual performance appraisals and performance issues in accordance with organizational policies and protocols.

Support manager with recruitment, interviewing and retention of staff; providing / organizing orientation and training for new CSS staff, students and volunteers.

Provide / organize supervision for CSS students. Provide occasional supervisory coverage for the Walk-In Counselling program and Youth Outreach Team.

Monitor staff performance targets and data quality by regularly reviewing documentation in client management systems, calls reports, statistics, and consultation with staff.

Provide clinical supervision to registered professionals staff, in individual and group format. Organize and facilitate team meetings.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies, Collective Bargaining Agreement, and legislative requirements. Engage in training and education to upgrade skills as directly by WoodGreen to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Keep current about range of services available within the organization and in other agencies. Take part in team, unit and management meetings for the purposes of ensuring coordinated and integrative programming, and resource sharing.

Participate in regular supervisory sessions with manager and annual performance appraisals. Be familiar with the organization’s policies and procedures and site-specific emergency procedures.

Represent the unit on internal staff committees, inter-agency initiatives as directed. What You Bring to the Team Master of Social Work or post graduate degree in a related Field.

Member in good standing with Professional College in Ontario. 5+ years of clinical experience in the mental health and addictions sector 2+ years of progressive management experience, preferably in a unionized environment.

What Will Set You Apart Ability to support individuals who have complex mental health and / or addiction issues, cognitive impairment, history of trauma, violence / abuse, chronic physical health issues, etc.

Understanding of mental health, addictions, health sector, and community resources. Experience providing therapeutic interventions, such as Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed approaches, etc.

Knowledge of theories of addiction, evidence-based treatment models, best practice approaches, Mental Health Act, related legislation, mental health recovery, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and harm reduction principles.

Demonstrate an anti-oppression approach to practice and work from a client-centered, anti-racism, harm reduction, and trauma informed approach.

Knowledge of issues affecting and experience working with marginalized communities, policies, legislation, programs, and related scope of practice and social determinants of health.

Experience in program development and evaluation. Ability to foster and maintain partnerships. Strong organizational, leadership, team building, and strategic planning skills.

Experience providing individual and / or group clinical supervision and strong clinical supervision skills. Familiarity with funding, budgets, financial management and ability to liaise with funders and community partners.

Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and crisis prevention / intervention skills. Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise excellent judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity to changing situations and needs.

Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with client data management systems. Excellent interpersonal skills. Second language is a strong asset.
