BASIC FUNCTION

The Application Specialist will provide technical and commercial sales support.This person is responsible for rapid delivery of quotations;

submittal data and other information needed by Crane Regional Sales Managers and Channel Partners to help drive sales growth.

This will require the candidate to develop detailed product knowledge and will require strong organizational and communication skills.

The successful candidate will also participate in outside sales calls and training / product demonstrations with the sales team quarterly.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Ability to review customer specifications to determine customer needs.
  • Initiate product quotes as requested from the field, collaborating with peers to ensure balanced workload for quick response
  • Maintain Key Process Indicators such as new product sales, quotes wins and losses or quote response time, as requested by manager
  • Assist Channel Partners and Regional Sales Managers and Operations team with technical requests and preliminary field issue troubleshooting.
  • To work within a team environment with others for daily work and to formulate policies and programs and / or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions or solutions
  • Investigate customer requests for return goods, verifies consistency with established policies, and processes the RMA for approval.
  • Provide Channel Partner product training as requested by the manager.
  • Order entry functions and customer support functions.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time, with possible increase up to 10% in time. Travel to the US head office and inter provincially within Canada to trade shows and visits to end users, and channel partners.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • BS degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years Sales / Marketing / Applications experience preferred or a good to strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrate good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong emphasis on systems thinking and understanding of rotating equipment a plus.
  • Ability to respond with a strong sense of urgency and care to customer requests, inquiries, and problems
  • Ability to maintain positive and constructive relationships internally and externally, even under difficult circumstances.
