Project : Mace is currently engaged in a mega rail and infrastructure scheme, delivering world-class transportation solutions in Toronto.

To be reporting the Deputy Program Director.

To lead a team comprising multiple rail corridors on the program, to ensure the best outcomes for the coordinated team.

To take ownership of all projects under their control on their specified rail corridors. They will utilize their previous experience to drive a culture of best practice for health, safety, wellbeing and program delivery across the program.

They will be required to proactively engage with the project delivery teams (PDT) and other stakeholders, such as vice presidents, senior sponsors, and functional teams.

The corridor head will need to consider their corridors at a program level, and with their expertise develop and implement a program-level strategy.

This strategy will oversee individual project delivery (by separate teams) and mitigate any risks to the successful corridor delivery.

Key areas include schedule management, cost management, risk management inc. key corridor level issues, interface management, scope / change management.

Success would be safe, on time and on budget delivery of the necessary projects, to enable the phased planned corridor train service improvements.

Your Responsibilities Will Include :

Leading multi-disciplinary teams of corridor leads, engineering manager, project manager / s and deputy project manager / s, including other specialists as the rise occurs.

Driving safety leadership from a figurehead position.

Managing client, consultants, contractors and own project staff.

Identifying and analyzing business risks.

Setting up effective management / assurance systems and procedures.

Managing activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome. Looking to create a vision and set strategy.

Expert in persuading and influencing colleagues. Creating high-performance teams and a common culture.

Detailed knowledge of key performance indicator monitoring and engagement, directly linked to monthly measurement criteria established.

Detailed knowledge of resource management, interface, and constraints management.

Leading the team on the recommendation and initiates change to project delivery plans, identify areas of improvement to put forward to relevant area in business and operating processes.

Interacting with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met.

Leading external relationships important for project delivery (e.g., statutory authorities).

Liaising with the VP, EVPs and PDT’s from the various sectors, Stations, Early Works, Joint Corridor Early Works, USRC, Extensions, to ensure all works are aligned with the common-goal for the Rail Corridor and over-arching program.

Acting as lead for compliance with health, safety, quality and environment processes for projects, sponsor audit of rail corridor, and project documentation, activities, and processes.

Developing and delivering implementation plans. Establishing commercially beneficial delivery models and leading on innovation and best practice.

About You

You have a degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the Rail Project and Rail Construction Delivery Management disciplines.

MBA or equivalent qualification. Chartered engineers and membership with key industry project management institution is a significant advantage.

You have proven years’ experience working in a relevant role in senior rail delivery leadership role. You have experience of delivering target cost contracts, experience of acting as client representative on high-value contracts and experience of leading strategic alliances.

Demonstrates core strategic and delivery capability for setting up an organisation structure, delivery and integration with the customer / client vision and objectives.

Strategic and detailed understanding of construction methodology, innovative methods of delivery, technology, planning, delivery, site logistics, commercial and legal / contract issues.

Knowledge of contract and commercial procedures.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated construction teams.

Strong experience across all technical delivery requirements across program and project level set up and delivery of mega programs in a railway upgrade environment.
