POSITION TITLE : Director of Franchise Development

REPORTS TO : Thomas Nguyen, CEO

LOCATION : Vancouver, BC

SUMMARY

The Director of Franchise Development is responsible for growing the Almond Nail Bar brand through the increase of locations across Canada and achieving defined targets by identifying and executing a sales plan that addresses the recruitment of qualified new franchisees in support of the company’s growth strategy.

The Director of Franchise Development will be based in Vancouver, Canada and will be responsible for development in Canada.

Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for recruiting new franchisees and locations in Canada. The Director will be responsible for the sourcing of and qualification process of screening for all independent owner / operator franchisee applicants to ensure they meet ownership criteria.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Achieves sales targets through identification & management of prospective franchisees from initial contact through agreement signing.
  • Engage in acquisition strategies to identify prospective franchisees, and proactively follow up on new franchise expansion opportunities in a manner consistent with Almond Franchising Inc.’s strategy.
  • Implement strategies to secure franchisees within the targeted markets identified for growth.
  • Serves as the liaison & seminar presenter at all industry trade shows & forums.
  • Consult with prospective franchisees on the benefits of joining the Almond system and the steps involved in becoming an Almond franchise owner.
  • Coordinates & communicates with the team & appropriate franchisees when additional resources are needed.
  • Prepare proposal information for submission to the CEO in respect of the development of new-build or conversion Almond Nail Bars.

Remain currently informed of all Almond’s operating practices, market trends, and industry conditions to provide necessary information and support to potential franchisees.

  • Seek and share industry and market intelligence with peers, franchisees and corporate staff, recognizing trends, threats and opportunities.
  • Exemplify, personify, and successfully communicate to peers, franchisees and corporate staff the business and ethical culture of Almond.
  • Provide franchisee feedback to the CEO, of Franchise Services.

Perform related duties and / or responsibilities as required or assigned.

Identifies problem areas at locations & provides problem-solving advice to address customer service & operational issues

REQUIRED SKILL / QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7 years of relevant experience in the beauty industry, business brokerage, franchising or a combination thereof.
  • Must have experience in B2B sales. Preferably in the salon, spa or beauty industry.
  • Skill and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and outlook).
  • Excellent communication and relationship development skills, using a high degree of tact, skill and diplomacy.
  • Comfortable presenting to audiences in person and via virtual platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be available and able to travel as required by the company.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
