Electrical Controls Engineer

What you’ll be doing in the role :
- Lead and participate in the successful execution of project design, layout, and engineering.
- Develop and / or approve of engineering design documents, reports, and drawings.
- Define, monitor, and adjust project scope of work.
- Support the team during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and user manuals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all electrical designs and implementations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Regularly attend customer sites for project reviews, commissioning, etc.
- Facilitating customer conversations regularly.
What you bring to the role :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Eng designation is an asset but not mandatory.
- Advanced computer skills including a high level of AutoCAD proficiency.
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Electrical Code.
- 5 or more years’ post-graduate experience in an Electrical Engineering role, specifically in Controls and Automation.
- At least 3 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience with electrical controls design, preparing quotes and estimates.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills and ability to present technical information effectively to team members, clients and vendors.
- Field engineering and on-site service experience.
- Strong experience in working with Omron and Rockwell PLC’s. Experience with Mitsubishi and Siemens an asset.
- Ability to travel across Canada and to the United States as required. A valid Passport is required.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and clean abstract is required.
