Position : Overnight Cabin Leader (OCL) Designation : Unit Leader
Type of Position : Summer Contract, Full-Time
Salary : $5670 $6159 (9 week contract)
Contract Dates : May 17th 20th and June 26 August 24, 2024
Overnight Cabin Leaders are part of the UNIT LEADER team at Canterbury Hills. Unit Leaders work in staff teams of 2-3 to provide direct supervision to an assigned unit (group) of campers.
Each Unit Leader works with their unit for the entirety of a weeklong session. Unit Leaders enjoy days filled with activity facilitation, camper interaction, and outdoor adventure.
Unit Leaders are supervised in their work by members of the senior staff team, called the Resource Team.
Among Unit Leaders, Overnight Cabin Leaders work to provide care, supervision, and a memorable experience to campers in our Overnight Camp program for campers aged 7-14.

- Weekly arrival onsite by 2 : 00pm on Sunday, departure every Friday after end of week clean-up and debrief
- Supervision of assigned Overnight Unit (8-12 campers) aged 7 to 14 years old, working alongside other OCLs in assigned staff team
- Planning and facilitating daily Unit activities
- Supporting group dynamics, encouraging positive interactions, and addressing any concerns
- Participating in daily camp wide events including chapel, evening game, and campfire
- Facilitating weekly campout at designated onsite campsites
- All meals provided
