Reporting to the Global Integrated Facilities Management Director, the Canadian Retail Director of Facilities Management is a key member of the client and JLL Leadership Team.

The Director takes an enterprise-wide perspective to seek opportunities across all facilities and, as such, plays an important role in building and leading a motivated team of professionals to provide exceptional service and solutions to the account.

This position will be accountable for the management of client facilities from a holistic perspective, including fostering the team, client and landlord relationships to effectively and efficiently deliver on facility performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for budget objectives through contract, vendor performance, physical security, environmental, and space change, and will oversee and ensure operational excellence in the following areas :

Reporting & Analytics

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Ensure that all client sites are run safely on budget, and in a manner that complies with all relevant legislation, compliance and with our contract.

Manage to Key Performance Indicators to maintain a high standard of contractual delivery and financial performance.

Lead a high-performing FM team to deliver operational excellence :

Responsible for overall team management, staff development and planning, execute staff succession and growth plans and involvement in compensation planning process

For every direct report, build actionable and measurable career development plans; direct report in consistent conversations regarding progress

Complete all performance reviews, succession plans, diversity and retention targets, etc.

Manage an Operating Expense budget and an internal P&L in order to achieve client cost control goals and maximize JLL revenue opportunities :

Manages the portfolio financials to ensure plan is met or exceeded in both growth and profitability

Forecast, track, and achieve budget targets, including guaranteed savings

In addition :

Understand client strategy and translate into tactical actions which can be executed by your team.

Develop effective working relationships with our client’s landlords and other service partners. These partnerships should produce break-through improvements in client's employee satisfaction and productivity.

Leverage best practices, expertise and innovation from the wider firm and beyond, networking with the JLL world and industry to import and customize solutions which support our service aspirations.

Recognize and implement opportunities for growth in scope and / or revenue and develop proposals for consideration by account leadership and our client.

Be a proven and effective change agent, so that new ideas and initiatives are powerfully introduced and executed to achieve their maximum potential.

Incubate talent for growth within the account and as a pipeline of future leaders for other parts of our business.

Work seamlessly with other service line leaders to ensure valuable integrations across the entire suite of services.

WHAT YOU BRING

A strategic leader with demonstrated excellence in facilities management, project management ideally within a multi-venue type environment.

Post-secondary education in a relevant field an asset along with 10+ years of progressively senior experience within facilities and maintenance OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience at a senior management level within a similar sized business.

Strong understanding of business and project management principal, and the understanding of the importance of systems, processes and working within established timelines.

Strong management and leadership skills with a high degree of accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to a team approach.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to lead negotiations and facilitate group meetings.

Excellent presentation skills, with ability to present to varying audiences.

Change management skill, effectively able to lead and manage the team through change.

Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial data.

Ability to write effectively, organize and maintain project documentation and prepare reports as required.

Ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
