Our client, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to help individuals and communities to gain equal opportunities in Canadian society, is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full life cycle recruitment process, plays an integral role by understanding the needs of hiring managers and sourcing the best talent to fill open positions.
Continuously partners with managers to design, refine and implement innovative recruiting strategies. Areas of specialization include creative ways to source top talent and increase brand awareness, screening candidates, promoting the value of working for the company to help them attract great candidates who fit our client’s culture and can support their mission
What You’ll Be Doing :
- Works closely with managers to gain comprehensive understanding of hiring needs
- Manage full cycle recruitment process
- Partner with HR team to refine / update recruitment documents
- Develop and release job postings on platforms, such as social media and job boards
- Screen resumes, qualify, interview, and manage candidates throughout recruitment cycle
- Perform reference checks
- Facilitate the offer process including background checks
- Manage onboarding and new hire process
- Assists in development and maintenance of job descriptions including physical demands analysis
- Ensures all screening, hiring and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and collective bargaining agreement
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned
What You’ll Need to Be Successful :
- Degree / diploma in Human Resources or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ recruiting experience and knowledge, preferably in non-profit sector
- Experience developing recruitment strategies
- Ability to manage wide range of relationships with variety of stakeholders
- Detailed oriented and resourceful self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Strong time management, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Able to work both independently with minimal supervision and effectively with other team members
- Strong computer literacy and willingness to improve skills
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check (completed when an offer is made)
- Possesses valid Class G driver’s license and access to vehicle
