About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Video News Reporter to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in conducting in-studio interviews, delivering insightful news coverage, and bringing stories to life through engaging video content.

This is a contract / freelance position located in-studio in Toronto, Ontario.

We'll trust you to... (Responsibilities)

• Conduct in-studio interviews with key industry figures, experts, and stakeholders.
• Research and pitch compelling business news stories relevant to our audience.
• Write and produce high-quality video segments for publication.
• Collaborate with editors and producers to develop innovative storytelling formats.
• Stay up-to-date with current events, industry trends, market developments and relevant topics.
• Undertake additional ad hoc assignments and duties as assigned.

You'll need to be / have... (Qualifications)

• Proven experience as a video news reporter, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Post-secondary education in journalism, communications, broadcasting, finance, economics, or related field is an asset.
• Proficiency with business news reporting, with a keen understanding of financial markets, corporate developments, and economic trends.
• Knowledge or experience in the mining industry is a significant asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at articulating complex concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.
• Display confidence and a charismatic on-camera presence, capable of establishing connections with audiences.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and adapt to evolving priorities.
• Must be based in Toronto or willing to relocate.
