What You'll Do :
Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a talented team of Event Managers, driving performance, providing growth opportunities, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Client Relations : Acting as the primary point of contact for our client, ensuring smooth communication and satisfaction.
Lead client meetings, handle escalations, and maintain strong partnerships with service teams such as Catering, AV, and Security.
Process Improvement : Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement best practices. Oversee metric tracking and analyze client feedback to continuously enhance our services.
Employee Management (50%) :
- Support and coach your team in sourcing, planning, and executing events.
- Lead team meetings to discuss productivity, process, and service levels.
- Share industry trends and best practices.
- Conduct 1 : 1 meetings to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage employee systems, including vacation time, expense reports, and payroll.
- Oversee training and onboarding for new hires.
Client and Partner Relations (30%) :
- Participate in client meetings to review project updates and resolve issues.
- Lead meetings with service partners (Catering, AV, Security, etc.).
- Maintain open communication with clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Act as the main contact for operational issues and escalations.
Project / Process Management (20%) :
- Develop and implement standard practices and process improvements.
- Track and analyze client satisfaction metrics.
- Manage various projects supporting the overall event program.
- Provide back-up support for the Director of Operations as needed.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field required. CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) Certification a plus.
2. 5+ years of experience in meeting / event planning (including incentives, association, corporation) or hotel catering, convention, sales experience required.
3. Ability to thrive in an agile, continuously changing environment. Proven ability promoting change and efficiencies within an organization.
4. Strong knowledge of program / event management and budget maintenance.
5. Prior experience leading teams / projects required. Prior experience managing, coaching and developing direct reports desired.
6. Prior successful experience in developing, managing and maintaining key client relationships and in effectively handling multiple projects / demands.
7. Professional oral presentation and writing skills required.
8. Excellent computer skills, knowledge of G Suite & ability to learn new technology quickly.
