Job Summary
As an integral member of the Ontario Line Delivery Partner (DP) leadership team, the Project HR Manager will bring expertise to the client team, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusion.
Reporting to the Prime Contracts Manager, the HR Manager will direct HR services, providing technical assistance and expertise in the development and implementation of Human Resource plans and programs designed to meet Ontario Line Delivery Partner and wider business objectives.#LI-HB1
Major Responsibilities :
- Manages staffing processes including requisition development and / or review, posting initiation, client approval actions including submission, tracking and reporting and project communications regarding new arrivals.
- Ensures project staffing plans and staffing management tools are appropriately actioned, including producing reports and analysis and liaising with internal and external stakeholders including company Talent Acquisition specialists.
- Maintains a strong awareness of new or pending industry practices or legislative changes; analyses and evaluates the project impact;
recommends sound, practical solutions to complex issues and liaises with Region and Country HR Management on recommendations.
- Process owner for the project Early Career Hire Program.
- Develops collaborative relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders while managing the interface and alignment of HR processes to ensure compliance, consistency, and effectiveness of HR activities
- Ensures HR policies, procedures and initiatives are appropriately implemented, managed, and updated to ensure process improvements.
This would include, but is not limited to; programs such as Onboarding of DP staff, Bechtel company training, Performance Management Program, probationary period guidelines, etc.
- Interacts with employees, supervisors, and managers to answer and resolve inquiries / issues on HR policies, benefit, international travel, health, life, disability, retirement, domestic and international payroll and others
- Coordinates and implements employee engagement initiatives
Education and Experience Requirements :
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- A strong understanding of Ontario and Canadian employment law(s)
- An interest in and understanding of best practice and innovation in Human Resources
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Must have the legal right to work and remain in the Canada without sponsorship.
- Ability to satisfactorily pass all pre-employment requirements to gain access to Project offices and facilities.
- Significant experience with the improvement and development of HR processes, policies, and systems
- Strong employee relations experience
