Leon Cycle is an e-bike business that was established in Germany in 2014 and has since developed business operations in over 10 countries across Europe, North America and APAC.
Leon Cycle offers a range of e-bike models from mountain bikes, folding e-bikes, trekking e-bikes and step thru e-bikes.
Our range of products are sold via both our own online website as well as E-Commerce platforms and via our dealers and our own retail stores worldwide.
With strong growth and expansions in place, we are now seeking a Human Resources Manager to join us based in Toronto. The role of our Human Resources Manager will include but not limited to :
- Assist North American Headquarter to support local BD Managers with the recruitment of their teams and staff, including sales, warehouse, technician and customer services.
- Per request from EU HQ, support in the search and recruitment of new BD Managers in other key regions and cities in the US and Canada conducting initial research and screening, initial interviews, assist in the scheduling of follow up video interviews between shortlisted candidates with HQ.
- Support in the payroll administration and liaison with external payroll agency on all North America payroll matters, consolidating all data and seeking confirmation and approval from EU HQ to confirm and approve payroll.
- Support in HR general duties such as the onboarding and exit of employees, holidays and leave records and approval process, contract signing and updates, employee record filing and keeping.
- Be the go-to person for compensation and benefits benchmarking and provide HQ HR dept with informative salary benchmarking and talent retention strategies
- Manage employee relations
- Provide PPT and Excel reporting to EU HQ on HR matters, such as headcount costs and forecast, headcount planning and monitor KPI performance
- Deal with any local HR issues and escalations (insurance, workers compensation, workers union, dismissal and termination, disputes)
- Other HR related matters as and when needed by MD
Requirements :
- 5-8 years of HR and recruitment experience in a retail, consumer goods, sporting goods industry
- Great people skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Very hands on and can work with minimal supervision
- Understand local US and Canadian HR regulations and labor laws
- Strong flexibility and adaptable to change
- Previous experience working in a very fast pace startup environment
- Bachelor degree or above in HR or business related field
- Recruitment experience in retail operations highly regarded
