Description
Infinera is seeking an Optical Test Automation Engineer to contribute to the creation and validation of testing platforms for optical communication modules and systems.
This position involves close collaboration with our teams to construct test automation tools based on system requirements.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop automation tools that enable engineers to meet demanding test requirements swiftly.
You will tackle intricate problems and simplify them. This role offers the opportunity to gain knowledge in sophisticated optical communication systems and learn to manage a variety of products.
Education & Professional Background :
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience, specifically in test & automation
- At least 3 years of experience in telecommunication systems environment
- Practical experience in optical communication components and systems, such as transponders, EDFA, MZM, OPM, WSS, ROADM
Required Skills :
- Proficiency in in Python and the object orient programming
- Experience with database management such as SQL, no SQL or time series database
- Familiarity with Git workflow and version control systems such as git, github, bitbucket, etc.
- Ability to identify problems and propose solutions
- An excellent team player with strong communication skills
Desirable Skills / Experiences :
- Experience with network equipment and instrument control via SCPI, TCPIP, SSH Tunneling, gRPC, Netconf, Telemetry streaming, etc.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization, as well as web publishing.
- Experience in multi-threading / multi-processing
- Knowledge of HTML, JSON, XML
- Experience in memory management and handling large data sets
- Experience in Unix / Linux environment
- Ability to write engineering documents and design specifications
