Position : QA Engineer - Network Security

Location : Plano, TX (Hybrid 3 days on-site)

Pay Rate : $60-$65 per hour

Contract Duration : 9 months with the potential for a permanent position

Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our team on a 9-month contract in Plano, TX. This position focuses on quality assurance testing within the network security sector, particularly involving the configuration and adjustment of network devices like switches and routers.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform QA testing on network security products, including configuring and testing network and switch devices.
  • Develop, design, and maintain both manual and automated testing suites.
  • Carry out comprehensive testing, including end-to-end, integration, and defect testing.
  • Identify and report software defects to improve product reliability and performance.
  • Work closely with product teams, developers, and other QA professionals to ensure thorough testing processes.
  • Convert system specifications into test cases and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications :

  • 5-7 years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on network and endpoint security.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP / IP and networking protocols such as DNS, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP, and 802.1x.
  • Experience with network security products, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and SIEM.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Python, SQL, and database management; familiarity with Java is a bonus.
  • Experience with network devices from Cisco, Juniper, or HPE is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for software and network issues.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM is recommended.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
