We have a new opportunity for a Collections Clerk with our client who is a full-service commercial law firm in Toronto, specializing in real estate, corporate, transactional / lending, and commercial litigation who also servces Canada’s six largest banks, various credit unions, private lenders, entrepreneurs, small, medium, and large enterprises.
Founded in 2004, the firm has grown almost entirely through repeat business and client referrals and have built reputation on providing highly effective and efficient legal services.
Your new role : Collections Clerk
Collections Clerk
Scope of Responsibilities :
- Performs all debt collection duties in collaboration with the recovery team
- Negotiates settlement agreements
- Reporting to clients
- Answers phone calls, follows-up on inquiries
- Performs general office and clerical duties
Requirements :
- A minimum of 2-4 years experience working in a similar role
- Collection agency experience an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- A calm but professional demeanor for dealing with clients regarding their accounts
- Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately
- Perseverance to maintain pressure for payment upon difficult accounts
- Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and problem solving skills
- Ability to take initiative and work under pressure
- Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations
- Ability to work with large institutional clients an asset
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 2010Previous experience in a Litigation practice would be considered an asset but is not necessary
- Working knowledge of Cleo Software would be considered an asset

$50,000-$60,000 + benefits + vacation allowance + 3 paid sick days
