What you will be doing :

This role leads the Secured Lending product management and sales team and reports to the Director, Lending Solutions. It is responsible for growing the secured lending business as a key driver of deepening our relationships with Tangerine clients.

This individual will be responsible for leading the strategy and operationalization of Tangerine’s mortgage growth, including HELOC.

The role has direct P&L ownership, product and pricing strategy and leads the internal sales team comprised of Manager(s) and account managers.

The individual is accountable for financial / non-financial risks, ensuring the adherence to our internal controls and governance of key processes and risks.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will :

  • Deliver the growth strategy for the secured lending business, aligned with the Bank’s vision and strategy
  • Determine and manage the key performance and risk indicators for Secured Lending products, including establishing departmental goals, projects and operational initiatives aligned with key business objectives
  • Own overall P&L and drive analysis and action to meet financial targets and optimize product performance
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the Bank to deliver effective acquisition, engagement and risk management plans that will profitably grow the secured lending business
  • Influence the end-to-end client value chain and cross-functional initiatives to continually improve usability and client satisfaction
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering / Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML related policies, procedures and controls within the department.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have :

Education / Experience

  • University degree in business administration, commerce or strategy
  • 5-10 years of leadership experience, including building and leading a sales team and leading people managers
  • 10+ years of end-to-end mortgage experience across sales, renewals, underwriting, funding and servicing as well as across channels (direct and broker)
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage processes, regulatory environment and competitive landscape (products and policies)
  • Prior experience developing business strategies and roadmaps

  • Ability to work across cross functional teams and collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communicator / presenter who is able to be clear, succinct and compelling in writing and verbally
