Description :

Establishing and implementingstandardized measurement and reporting systems and tools. The coreresponsibilities will include collecting data from teams analyzingdata deriving insights and presenting information in a clear andvisually engaging reporting manner to facilitate datadrivendecisions and strategic evaluations.

Services / Deliverables :

TheBusiness Intelligence and Analytics resource deliverables areoutcomes and outputs that they provide to theorganization.

Deliverables mayinclude :

Develop PerformanceMeasurement Framework and Metrics : Create a cohesive performancemeasurement and reporting framework through comprehensiveconsultations and collaboration with stakeholders across businessareas.

This process will involve designing refining and validatingkey performance indicators (KPIs) to accurately reflect theirbusiness objectives and ensure alignment with thePlaybook.

Design Implement and MonitorReporting Tools : Create and deploy userfriendly reporting toolssuch as dashboards tailored to the diverse needs of business unitsand the Playbook.

Ensure integration with existing systems andestablish protocols for ongoing monitoring and optimization ofreporting processes.

Facilitate DataDrivenDecisions : Utilize analytics techniques to derive and shareactionable insights with the Executive Management Team.

Provideguidance on interpreting data trends and patterns to empowerdecisionmakers across the organization to make datainformed choicesaligned with strategic priorities outlined in thePlaybook.

Subject Matter Expertise : Providespecialized knowledge and guidance on best practices and emergingtrends in business intelligence and analytics.

Serve as a resourcefor teams offering support in implementing analytics techniquesoptimizing reporting processes and leveraging data for strategicdecisionmaking.

Responsibilities :

SupportsClients wideranging business information requirements implementingand supporting business intelligence softwaresolutions.

Develops and supports customized queryapplications which analyze key businessdata.

Develops and supports guided analysis anddrilldown functionality routine scheduling and notification ofreport generation and effective implementation of opportunity andkeytrend alerts.

Provides Clients with approachoptions and tools for managing businessrelated data in a mannerthat assists in quantitative analysis of progress and therelationship between operational actions and their effect onbusinessobjectives.

GeneralSkills :

Business metrics servicesare the interaction of people processes and technologies requiredto formally identify quantify and qualify metrics associated withbusiness processes as required to establish baseline performanceand to substantiate performanceimprovements.

Businessmetrics services mayinclude :

  • Identifying metricsmeasurement tools associated with specific initiatives to establishtangible outcomes (e.g. transactions processed) or activities(services available) and provide a comprehensive quantifiableprofile of the initiativeseffectiveness;
  • Identifying the measurementcriteria associated with the factor (e.g. response times costestablished norms) for each component of a specific metricspackage;
  • Establishing the measurement processassociated with each factor for each component of a specificmetrics package;
  • Performing the measurement atkey stages in the initiative to determine the initial baselineperformance and performance at key milestones throughout a project(e.
  • g. delivery of a pilot project or quality assurance testing) foreach component in a specific metricspackage;
  • Analyzing resulting data to identifyoperational or program improvements which could enhance overalleffectiveness of the initiative;
  • Generatingreports based on the metrics required in supporting the developmentof a specific contract or agreement;or
  • Defining and implementing a serviceexcellence approach including monitoring of service levelsestablishing performance standards and guidelines improvingoperational efficiencies to achieve cost reductions increasingproductivity through better use of skills and experience andimproving communications in a changing workenvironment.
  • Measurement of performance andrelated metrics are viewed as important factors in assessing thequality and effectiveness of a wide range of initiatives.

andnbsp;Specifically metrics associated with pre / postserviceimprovement initiatives are required in program areas where theability to substantiate tangible benefits can have a significantbusiness impact on value and performance managementdecisions.

Performancemanagement services are important on three levels : for the entireorganization; for teams within the organization;

and forindividuals within the organization.

Experiencewith analyzing data in source systems to identify data cleanlinessissues (e.g. missing values duplicate meanings and invaliddata)

Experience with developing data extractiontransformation and load programs (daily and initial load)functionality on a widerange of data repositories (relational andmulti dimensional data stores)

Experience withdeveloping monitoring and error notification processes to ensuredata is updated as designed

Experience withdeveloping automation extraction cleansing and loadscripts

Experience generating research models andreports (scheduled and adhoc)

Proventroubleshooting and analyticalexperience

Experience in the use of developmenttools and business reengineeringsoftware

Experience in developing enterprisearchitecture deliverables (e.g. business logical and physicalmodels) based on Enterprise Application Processes and Modelingmethodology and guidelines

Experience inMarketing and / or Tourism sector in a Business IntelligenceSpecialist role.

DesirableSkills :

The skillsets possessed bya Business Intelligence and Analytics resource would include strongknowledge of and experience with reporting packages databases (suchas SQL) programming languages (such as XML JavaScript or ETLframeworks) proficiency in using BI technologies and software suchas Tableau and PowerBI and experience establishing and monitoringperformance metrics.

These skillsets are currently gaps within theskills inventory and pose a heightened risk for missedopportunities in the implementation of the Playbook suboptimaldecisionmaking and the inability to respond to changing marketdynamics ultimately leading to lagging behind the industry.

This iscontrary to the vision mission and values and underscores the needand opportunity to mitigate the abovenoted risks by investing in atemporary resource to build the foundation and future of a businessintelligence and analyticspractice.

Knowledgeand experience in developing data analysisapplications

Knowledge and understanding ofInformation Management principles concepts policies andpractices

Ability to provide expert advice indeveloping and integrating process and information models to enableidentifying and eliminating redundant businessprocesses.

Experience with developing monitoringand error notification processes to ensure data is updated asdesigned

Hands on experience working withstakeholders to develop and document interface specificationsdesign between Business Intelligence solutions and externalapplications

Extensive experience with conceptuallogical and physical data modelling tools like Power Designer andVisio.

Knowledge and understanding ofAccessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and relatedregulations and standards

Experience in Marketingand / or Tourism in Business Intelligence (Intermediate) capacity isan asset

Public Sector experience would bedesirable.
